Stephen's Favorite Songs:

The Last Date
Floyd Cramers piano master piece. It's why I play piano. I've listened to this song for over 30 years, I still get chills when I hear it. Floyd Cramer was country music's Mozart.

I Fall To Pieces

The perfect country song. The #1 producer Owen Bradley,  The #1 song writers Harlin Howard, Hank Cochran, and the #1 country singer Patsy Cline. It's brilliant, because it's so simple and yet unforgetable.

Crying
Roy Orbison: a mini soap opera. One of the great vocal performances in music history.  One of musics great master writers.  As great a catalog of songs as you'll find any where by anyone.

Always On My Mind
Willie Nelson is one of my favorite songwriters and performers.  This song touches me because it reminds me that you should never take love you've been given and taken for granted.  A three minute master piece

Perhaps Love
My favorite John Denver song.  Believe me, that's saying something because I have every John Denver song ever published.  It points out how love can be so many things,  in so many ways, for so many people and yet it's still love.  Upon his death, ex wife Anne Denver told an interviewer it was her favorite song.  I can't tell you how happy that made me.

Favorite song I've written:
"I Like Your Vibe" - I received my first single song contract with this song. Other writers have told me the first song contract is always the hardest and the one you'll always remember. They were right. I'll never forget that moment when I got the news

Favorite song I wished I'd written:
Irving Berlin's White Christmas.  The crown jewel of Christmas songs -
having a song sung all over the world and loved by everyone is what every songwriter dreams about.
